Today a friend of mine called me a dumbshit for enlisting in the armed<\/p>\n
forces that many years ago. I said, “yes, your right”, I did not hesitate,<\/p>\n
for over the years I have come to the same conclusion. I also said “but<\/p>\n
I was not the only dumbshit”, ha,ha! So, what is a dumbshit?<\/p>\n
In my case and in so many other cases it was, and still is, a young person<\/p>\n
fresh out of high school having learned nothing of value, value in the sense<\/p>\n
that\u00a0one could enter society and make a living. Casting about for a solution,<\/p>\n
I wound up enlisting.<\/p>\n
In large measure the dilemma I faced then and which so many young people<\/p>\n
then and to this day are confronted with allows war to be engaged in<\/p>\n
endlessly, for those factions that encourage war, demand war, promulgate<\/p>\n
war for their own benefit\u00a0 are not the ones that have to fight and die in it.<\/p>\n
