F and W’s def. Democracy n. A form of government in which political power<\/p>\n\n\n\n
resides in all the people<\/em> and is exercised by them directly<\/em> or is given to<\/p>\n\n\n\n elected representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stop! Wherever you are, not in motion literally, no, don’t do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I mean figuratively; look around you, if you’re on the highway don’t<\/p>\n\n\n\n see the cars see the people. On the byway see the people not the<\/p>\n\n\n\n landscape. Again, wherever you are. Understand that you, they, we are <\/p>\n\n\n\n the people, all<\/em> the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How is it then that laws that are made for all of the people benefit only<\/p>\n\n\n\n some of the people?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Revert to the definitions above. The def. of Republic contains <\/p>\n\n\n\n this quote “the sovereignty resides in the people”, it did not say some of<\/p>\n\n\n\n the people.
