I just watched, and more importantly listened to two men on television.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One younger, twenty-ish, the other considerably older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As I had come in mid-program, I wasn’t immediately aware that<\/p>\n\n\n\n
they were grandson and grandfather. Eventually the relationship <\/p>\n\n\n\n
dawned on me, but that’s not why I write.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was the conversation between them and the conversation <\/p>\n\n\n\n
they had with a third party that, frankly, gripped me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In many ways I heard my own thoughts, my own beliefs<\/p>\n\n\n\n
being expressed, eloquently, by these two men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They are Black, I am White. Where is the divide?, pray tell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
