Have you noticed that since 1812 I believe, all of this nations
\nwars have been foreign affairs? My 1976 Funk and Wagnalls
\noffers this definition, “Matters of diplomacy, commerce, etc.,
\nin the dealings of one nation with another”.
\nWhat’s with the etc., are they being coy?
\nAnyway, the above sprang out of an earlier thought about
\n“foreign policy”, but could not find a definition.
\nStill foreign speaks for itself, so I looked up “policy”.
\nF and W def. “Policy n. Any plan of action, esp. in
\ngovernmental or business administration: a nations foreign policy.
\n2. Prudence, wisdom, or shrewdness, as in conduct of one’s
\naffairs; also, any act or plan based on such principles”.
\nEnough, I used to think foreign affairs were the purview
\nof the President and State Dept.
\nAnymore, as it turns out, foreign policy translates to war
\nor threats of war on others, right up the Military’s alley,
\nnot to forget the quasi-military CIA.
\nPray tell, where’s the fucking prudence or wisdom in war?
