\nYou know, down here some things are very important
\nand rightly so, such as the Confederate flag
\nand Robert E. Lee.
\nLee’s father fought in the Revolutionary War.
\nLee was a West Point graduate and married to
\na granddaughter[not by blood] of George Washington.
\nLee served with great distinction in the Mexican War.
\nWhen the split came he sided with his native state,
\nVirginia, ergo he sided with the South.
\nRobert E. Lee is part of America’s history, in many
\nways a very noble part of America’s history.
\nWhile we’re at it, why not remove the statue of
\nAbraham Lincoln from the edifice that surrounds him?
\nThat’s the problem with many Americans, they don’t seem
\nto give a shit about anything, including their own history.
\nAs for the Confederate flag, many Americans marched
\nunder it and many Americans died under it, not in the
\ninterest of slavery, that’s a canard, but for their
\nindividual states rights.
\nAnd while I’m on the subject of slavery, Black people
\nwere not sold into it upon reaching America’s shores,
\nthey were sold into slavery before they left Africa
\nby their own kind, tribal chiefs, village elders,
\npeople in authority. Let that sink in.
\nSlavers did not go to Africa and “beat the bush” for “product”.
\nFinally, if the North had been an agrarian society like the
\nSouth was, they would have been deeply into slavery as well.
