On Spinal Taps

They say that a spinal tap can be dangerous and when I say “they”

I mean the doctors. They are right, in my case not death or paralysis

though possible but as I would describe it a “bad back”.

Which I believe is the result of nerve damage as they pushed the needle home.

I took a chance, they said it could be dangerous but we all take chances

do we not?

I am not an expert, I am not a doctor, I am a layman who combines his

limited knowledge with his immediate experience.

The spine is the ultimate connector to every bone in the body,

crucial to movement and you can tell me what else it does

but I focus on the fact that it also contains the main conduit

of the nervous system.

A strategically placed wound to said can affect certain or perhaps

all areas of the body, in my case the back.

In a more serious vein, my wife needs my attention as I write, ha, ha!,

but I will post an addendum.
