It has a muzzle velocity three times greater than the average pistol. This, in combination with its round’s unique ability to tumble on impact, turns large bone-mass to powder and jellifies internal organs such as the liver. It is a great battlefield weapon in that if it doesn’t kill you immediately, it produces a wound so egregious that field medics cannot cope with it, thus increasing the kill ratio. Since greed is good, greed is our goal, greed is our motto, greed is the game-our reason for being and greed rules, this weapon of war was offered for sale to the American public and every whacko who could pull a trigger; and “thereby[as I’m fond of saying]hangs a tale.” I think I may have a solution to the “Gordian Knot” that is the AR-15, though some may consider me a whacko for suggesting it. Instead of showing darling photographs of men, women and children taken before being slaughtered in the next school shooting and then displayed afterwards, I propose that immediately after securing the crime scene camera men be allowed access to film dead and wounded “en situ”,—-Wait there’s more. Then I propose that a joint meeting of the House and Senate be convened including the Supreme Court. The NRA could be invited to sit in the gallery. And then this august body and the Nation would be shown children with their faces blown off and their guts hanging out. And, By God, if that doesn’t do it—there is no God.
