Are most malleable. That is a good thing for the most part.
But the dark side of the shiny coin if you will, is when a nation,
any nation can take a 17 or 18 year old, give him six months
of training (read indoctrination}, then give him a gun and instruct
him to go abroad and kill which he does quite efficiently.
These late teen years surely must be the most hazardous in their lives.
They do not know the meaning of life, you might say who does?, but I’ll
tell you flat out the first time I personally got a glimpse, or
understanding of what life might be all about is when I witnessed my first child.
I was well into my 20’s. If, at that time, you had asked me to defend my country I would have come to the fore, would not
we all? But other than that had you asked me to go to some
shithole half way around the world, I would have given you
a resounding “FUCK YOU!”.
