I’d like to comment on on his “Millenium Trilogy”, “The Girl with the
Dragon Tattoo”, “The Girl Who Played with Fire”, and “The Girl Who
Kicked the Hornets’ Nest”.
I’ve just gotten around to reading them.
I know they’ve been out there for some time, therefore I also know
that I’m necessarily “carrying coal to Newcastle” to many readers. Still.
The lead female protagonist Lisbeth Salander interests me for her
outstanding eccentricity and her derring-do of course but also for the
fact that she is an introvert with a capital I.
I’m an introvert myself, a characteristic formed in childhood as we all
know. I’m fond of saying “once an introvert, always an introvert”, but it
doesn’t bother me as I know the reason for it. I can be approached but I’m
certainly not the “hail fellow well met” type.
Another interesting facet of Larsson’s novels is his description of
Swedes and Swedish history over the decades.
