Oxymorons

Military justice is a classic example.

A commanding officer can bring a charge against  an enlisted

man with no justification what-so-ever.

If the charge is minor the court-martial  is conducted by

one officer and the  enlisted man is allowed no counsel.

If the charge is more serious  the trial is presided over by

a group of officers, many of whom are commanding officers

in their own right, and the enlisted man is allowed counsel,

another fucking officer.

All  these brass are members of the club of course, so from

the git-go you know where things are headed.

The poor shit will be screwed, blued and tattooed and when

he gets out of the guardhouse he winds up right back  under

the command of the rat-bastard that sent him there.

By the way, they don’t mention the above when you

go down to the recruiting station.
