You know, down here some things are very important
and rightly so, such as the Confederate flag
and Robert E. Lee.
Lee’s father fought in the Revolutionary War.
Lee was a West Point graduate and married to
a granddaughter[not by blood] of George Washington.
Lee served with great distinction in the Mexican War.
When the split came he sided with his native state,
Virginia, ergo he sided with the South.
Robert E. Lee is part of America’s history, in many
ways a very noble part of America’s history.
While we’re at it, why not remove the statue of
Abraham Lincoln from the edifice that surrounds him?
That’s the problem with many Americans, they don’t seem
to give a shit about anything, including their own history.
As for the Confederate flag, many Americans marched
under it and many Americans died under it, not in the
interest of slavery, that’s a canard, but for their
individual states rights.
And while I’m on the subject of slavery, Black people
were not sold into it upon reaching America’s shores,
they were sold into slavery before they left Africa
by their own kind, tribal chiefs, village elders,
people in authority. Let that sink in.
Slavers did not go to Africa and “beat the bush” for “product”.
Finally, if the North had been an agrarian society like the
South was, they would have been deeply into slavery as well.
