The Big Picture

Subtitle: The Age of Dinosaurs.

Vis-a vis the theatre that is The Senate Judiciary Committee.
On stage; the two antagonists.
One, a woman, gives a riveting account of the other’s
untoward behavior towards her.
The other, a man, vexed beyond endurance, displays his
Indignation with a capital I.
So much for the actors on stage, but what about the actors
in the background?
May I resort to analogy? Consider the two actors on stage
as trees and consider the twenty-one actors in the background
as the forest. Could it be that we cannot see the forest
for the trees?
The forest yes, look, do you see them in it?, three dinosaurs
that were there twenty-eight years ago.
And in their company are soon- to- be dinosaurs who’ve only
been in office a decade or two, senators for life as it were.
And there, in the forest, hangs the tale of why Washington
is so fucked up. For there you have these worn-out hacks
without an original thought if they ever had one, intent on
only one thing, protecting their fiefdoms and saying to
the rest of us, “fuck you Jack, I’m allright!”.
