2. The most sacred part of a place in a sacred structure.
3. A place of refuge; asylum; also immunity. [<OF<LL<Latin sanctus, holy].
A church is by definition a sanctuary and I suggest that those in this
government who think not should consider these words from
Amendment One to the Constitution, “Congress shall make no law
respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting
the free exercise thereof.”
And while they’re at it, perhaps they could bone-up on these words
from the Declaration of Independence; “We hold these truths to be
self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed
by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights, that among them
are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”.
The above should be, for lack of better words, “Holy Writ”
to all Americans and on the subject of Holy Writ this so called
Christian nation might consider these words “render unto Caesar
that which is Caesar’s and unto God that which is God’s”.
