Studying body language seems to be in vogue, of course
opinions are bound to be subjective.
That said, our Grand Poobah exhibits a confident “Master
of the Universe” appearance in front of a faceless crowd
of thousands of adoring acolytes, okay.
Yet it is what I see when he sits at say a conference table
and the group is small enough that out of necessity he must
look them in the eye, that is thought provoking.
He quite often hugs himself, I take that as a defensive move,
we often defend ourselves from the cold in that manner,
do we not? Is it that he sees or perhaps only imagines
looks showing loathing, disgust and yes, even pity?
If there’s ever another Tolkien movie made, he would do well
to try-out for the part of “Gollum”; he’s a natural, he is the “Gollum”, ha,ha!
