I was listening to it just now and as I did, not only the melody
captured me but also a thought. I saw one person striking a note
and humanity responding.
If you consider one person a soloist and humanity the orchestra,
I think you have an analogy going.
As I listen to any great work it becomes apparent to me that yes
the soloist leads but he also follows. For consider when the soloist
strikes a note that resounds in the orchestra’s psyche. The note was
already in their repertoire, dormant perhaps but inherent.
Once inspired the orchestra can and does run with it.
It’s as if they say “yes, I understand and let me show you how much
I understand”.
