I like to use that word a lot, and my handlers assure me that as
long as I do not use it in any gross way it’s just another four
letter word to them.
Interestingly, I think, neither my Funk and Wagnalls or Webster
offer a definition, although Webster does give a definition for foul
mouthed. I’m quite sure I know why they decline a definition,
they would have to publish a book as thick as the world.
My wife constantly scolds me for its use, however if she stubs
her toe,Hark! [I finally get to use an exclamation point]
She says, “you have such a decent command of the language,
it detracts”, I say, “shit, I’m from the gutter”.
There is a lot to be said for gutters, the civilized world could
not have developed nor come so far without them.
I’m particularly fond of saying “fuck me to death”, I’ve even
learned to say it in Spanish, “senga me al muerte”, or something
like that. My personal definitions could be described as
perhaps elation, perhaps disappointment.
When a cat meows, or a dog barks, or a lion roars or an elephant
trumpets, might they be saying “fuck” or “fuck me”?
I wouldn’t be surprised. Islander
