STOP!

Funk and Wagnall’s def. Republic n. A state in which the sovereignty

resides in the people, and the legislative and administration powers

are lodged in officers elected by them.

F and W’s def. Democracy n. A form of government in which political power

resides in all the people and is exercised by them directly or is given to

elected representatives.

Stop! Wherever you are, not in motion literally, no, don’t do that.

I mean figuratively; look around you, if you’re on the highway don’t

see the cars see  the people.  On the byway see the people not the

landscape. Again, wherever you are.  Understand that you, they, we are

the people, all the people.

How is it then that laws that are made for all of the people benefit only

some of the people?

Revert to the definitions above. The def. of Republic contains

this quote “the sovereignty resides in the people”, it did not say some of

the people. It did not say corporations, it did not say big money, it did

not say a jury of nine lifetime appointed people who sit in judgment

for us, or should I say of us.

In the definition of Democracy you will find this quote, “political power

resides in all the people” again, it did not say some of the people, etc.

Italics are mine.

I suggest we live in neither a Republic or a Democracy, call it what you

may, and make of the above what you will.

Islander.
