Take your immediate neighbors. You know them, you trust them,
there is such a thing as collective good.
My point is, I like the idea of seeing eye to eye even when
you’re not seeing eye to eye. You, they, are present and that
translates to accountability.
The old saying goes something like this, “absence makes the
heart grow fonder”, I posit another point of view “absence
makes the heart grow harder.”
I do not know my Representative from a hole in the ground,
I do not know my Senators from a hole in the ground,
I do not know my Governor from a hole in the ground,
and I do not know my President nor Vice-President from
a hole in the ground; but there is one thing I do know,
it’s a lot easier to fuck over someone when you don’t know them.
