Am I so unique in thinking that the main thrust of education
in this country should not be math or science, but history?
Many in this country tout the math and science disciplines
as a means to financial success, but I suggest the following
quote also be taken into account, “for what shall it profit
a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul”
{Mark 8. 36}.
Americans must know and understand what it took
to create the freedoms they enjoy today, for if as Paine
suggests they are not aware of how it all came about,
they will not have a clue as to how to preserve it.
I, for one, am thoroughly convinced that if more Americans
knew their history, but who has time for history, they would
be much less inclined to act utterly and udderly like sheep
in following their leaders{substitute herders} into mindless
and endless foreign wars. Islander
