Now and Then

In the 1930’s a New York Mayor, Fiorello La Guardia, read the Sunday

funnies in the morning, on the radio.

For the children you might think, but broadly it was for anyone living

in the metropolitan area. It was a feel-good moment;.

Now, eighty-odd years later, we have a new York Governor and a

New York Mayor on television telling their audience “prepare to die”,

ha,ha!,—ha,ha,ha!

Islander.
